Junior High was a whole new playing field.
Seventh grade I had ZERO friends. I ate lunch by myself, picked out a good book from the library, and created a new set of friends from within my book. My passion for read became extremely strong!
However, things changed in eigth grade. I made friends and we did crazy things but I had a very influential expierence. The following is an essay I submitted for a scholarship:
Throughout my childhood, I was constantly preparing lesson plans, organizing my bedroom to resemble a classroom, and forcing my sisters to play school. This continued until I entered junior high school. My friends tired to convince me that my lifelong desire to be a teacher was foolish; however, their attempts failed when I walked into Kerry Mitchell's English class. I was convinced that I was meant to be a teacher. She had the ability to make grammar come alive, literature take on meaning, and learning be fun. She inspired me and instilled a great desire to teach. As I entered high school and took a plethora of classes, I tried to gain a grasp of what I wanted to teach in the future. History, geography, and government enticed me. I began to value history and thrive on politics. It became one of my greatest passions.
I know the impact that one teacher can have on a student. I want to make social studies come alive and have great meaning on the future. I want to become the greatest teacher possible.
Mrs. Mitchell is a great influence and friend to me still. She instilled in me a great desire to be a teacher.
Freshman year I really struggled with school. I didn't have the greatest of grades. The bad grades I had here haunt me still in trying to get scholarships.
I had an epiphany during my sophomore year: the friends I had were not going in the same direction that I wanted to. I cut all ties with them and for the most of the year I didn't have any friends. Then one day Krishia started to want to go to lunch with me. I am so grateful she did because it introduced me to my crazy group of friends I have now.
Junior Year has been my favorite by far. It started out slow but, once I broke the barrier with my friends it started to roll. I remember the first conversation that K-fed actually told me something important. Justin liked Jess, but she was starting to like K-fed. I felt like I had started to create a lasting friendship. I loved the crazy talks with Mrs. D during our free hours. My classes didn't seem to difficult, yet they were challenging enough.
The conclusion to my story will come later and ending with graduation.
