one day at a time

Tonight was the CES fireside.  Katie and I went at 4 (2 hours early).  All of the doors were locked however we noticed a guy in sweats go into the ticket office.  The doors were unlocked there.  So, we decided to follow him.    He went up the elevator but we opted for the stairs.  We snuck up onto the mail level and checked at most of the doors; they were locked.  Lucky us! We found one.  No one was on the floor.  Other than the choir and some other technical people we were the only ones there.  We went down on the floor and got seats on the second row (the 1st row was saved for Elder Christofferson's guests).

No one is behind us!

About an hour into sitting there Elder Christofferson came out to talk to the choir.  When he was done he shook some people's hand and went to the side where he was talking.  Several people walked up to him, talked, and shook his hand.  Katie and I went after the guys sitting next to us went.  So, I SHOOK ELDER CHRISTOFFERSON'S HAND!  My heart was beating so hard and my knees started to shake.  He's an apostle of the Lord.  He is His messenger and communicates with him.  It was just so remarkable to be in Elder Christofferson's presence.

When the meeting started Elder Christofferson talked about although it is important to prepare for the future, we must not forget the day to day tasks we have.   He talked about how the Lord will assist us in our daily small tasks and the Lord is even anxious to do so.  One thought that I kept having is that I need to walk with Him today and trust that He is preparing me for my tomorrow.  Elder Christofferson also said, "don't look ahead to the pain but to live it one day at a time" and "rejoice one day, one step is closer to eternity".

The meeting was great.  I need to focus one day at a time if I am to make it through this semester.  Remember it takes individual brush strokes to make a beautiful landscape!
