school + mother's day = no bueno

I found out today that I believe that Mother's Day gifts, cards and other things should not be made at school.  It's a great gesture, but it's not worth the tears I saw today--not worth opening closed wounds.

Not every child has a mother in the picture.  With the national divorce rate at 50%, you can't say that both parents are involved in their child's life. 

I don't want to ever have to try to pick up the pieces of a child's heart because teachers are ignorant to the situations of their students.

In case you didn't pick up on it, today was one of the hardest days at work for me.
