Today has honestly been one of the best days of my life.
I am a person that hates to be late; sometimes I would rather not go than be late. So, when my home teachers called at 2:30 after having scheduled to arrive at 2, I was pretty pessimistic about them. My opinions were quickly changed when conversation started. We talked about my housing problems and joked about how small the world is. They shared a great message that can be found here. A part they really focused on (which I'm glad they did) was:
To Peter at Galilee, Jesus said, “Follow me.” To Philip came the same instruction, “Follow me.” And to the publican Levi, who was sitting at receipt of customs, came the beckoning call, “Follow me.” Even to one who came running after him, one who had great possessions, came the words, “Follow me.” And to you and to me that same voice, this same Jesus, says, “Follow me.” Are we willing to obey?
What a great message!
Shortly after they left, I texted Megan and Spencer to see if they wanted to take a spontanious trip to go to Baptisms for the Dead. So after we quickly got ready and I got a parking ticket for parking in the wrong place, we headed down to temple square.
It seemed to me that the people working at the temple were incredibly friendly today. The man that baptisted me, looked at me and said "Ready to go to work"
That really stood out to me and connected with my home teaching message. Keeping the Lord's commandments are not easy, they require work.
I am truly grateful for that principle I learned today and the amazing time I've had.
"ARE WE WILLING TO OBEY?"
